SEMI-GAS® Systems Wins Third Consecutive Golden Gas Award
VaporX™ receives top honors in Specialty Gas Delivery Systems category
Malvern, Pa. February 2014 – SEMI-GAS® Systems, an industry-leading provider of ultra-high purity gas delivery equipment, has been named a Golden Gas Award winner for a third consecutive year by Gases and Instrumentation International Magazine. SEMI-GAS’ new VaporX™, an Xturion™ custom gas source system that safely and continuously delivers low vapor pressure liquefied process gases in vapor phase, received the award in the Specialty Gas Delivery Systems category.
The Golden Gas Awards highlight both new and improved products in the gas industry that show technological innovativeness and superior specifications in terms of power, speed, maintenance, footprint and cost effectiveness. More than 40 entries were submitted this year from a wide array of companies that varied in size, industry and geographic location. Awards were presented in eight categories, including Gas Analysis and Detection, Gas Chromatography, GREEN Gas, Gas Flow Measurement and Control, Gas Filtration and Purification, Gas Generation, Specialty Gas Delivery Systems, and Gas System Components.
VaporX™ is an integrated solution for semiconductor, LED and solar cell manufacturers who need higher flows of hazardous and non-hazardous low vapor pressure gases. The system’s unique and streamlined manifold design, which uses lower loss components and a simpler path layout, reduces cost and minimizes system downtime. The dual source system switchover model further reduces cost by sharing an enclosure, controller and system components.
All VaporX™ systems feature an easy-to-use GigaGuard™ PLC controller in conjunction with an integrated fully automatic multi-zone heat control package. Together, they guard against undesirable process gas liquefaction and help sustain cylinder temperatures and flow rates.
All heat zones, including the cylinder, manifold and process gas line, are independently controlled and employ redundant temperature measurement with over-temperature protection. A custom gas management box, with heated mass flow controllers, is also offered for gas control at the point-of-use.
Jim Murphy, the SEMI-GAS® Division Manager, said, “We are always proud when our new products are able to improve our customer’s processes and results. But it’s even more rewarding when the industry recognizes our on-going pursuit to be the leader in developing innovative specialty gas systems.”
