Position Overview:

The objective of this position is to uphold the company’s reputation by controlling and guaranteeing product and service quality. This position will oversee a small team of quality inspectors and will manage inspection and process control programs leading to high levels of customer satisfaction and “best in class” quality standards.

In addition to directing departmental activities, this position also inspects and tests parts, sub-assemblies, systems, and processes for conformance to company standards using written specifications, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools. In tandem with Engineering and Production Management, the Quality Assurance Manager is also accountable for increasing product quality, lowering costs, and improving on-time delivery performance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate incoming inspections
  • Monitor, track, and report non-conformances
  • Implement and administer company validation program
  • Coordinate analytical product sampling program
  • Oversee and implement corrective actions
  • Oversee and maintain calibration records
  • Implement and monitor supplier scorecards
  • Maintain product consistency through in-process QC checks
  • Develop work instructions, process maps, and procedures
  • Oversee ISO 13485 quality management system
  • Establish and maintain policies for testing and quality documentation
  • Implement ongoing quality improvement processes
  • Perform internal and external audits
  • Develop and manage quality metrics for interdepartmental performance
  • Manage the planning and execution of product testing efforts
  • Assure the viability, functionality, and effectiveness of QA essential tools
  • Verify parts to drawings as well as perform analytical testing
  • Work with customer service to initiate and close RMAs

Required Experience:

  • High School degree required
  • BA/BS degree in business or engineering preferred
  • 5-8 years’ experience in quality control or quality assurance
  • 2-3 years’ experience in supervisory, management, or leadership position preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP software systems
