Position Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, profitable, and timely manufacture of our VERSA-GAS™ and SEMI-GAS® gas delivery equipment. This position integrates and coordinates our MRP system with production control, purchasing, inventory control, and labor. The Production Manager is hands-on, directly impacting production continuity and balance, manufacturing schedules, material requisition, equipment maintenance, employee relations, and is accountable for ensuring the safe operation of the plant and compliance with applicable industry standards, AES policies, and typical manufacturing procedures.

The Production Manager must also demonstrate exceptional people skills and be fully competent in the hiring, motivating, and engagement of approximately 25 subordinates.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Plan, direct and coordinate all production activities.
  • Follow all industry standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure department meets those schedules.
  • Manage purchasing and maintain inventory levels to meet production demands.
  • Drive the department to a Lean Manufacturing state.
  • Support planning and implementation of continuous improvement projects, always seeking to eliminate waste, reduce cost and lead times, and improve efficiency.
  • Perform longer term capacity analysis of the department to plan and implement actions necessary to meet those future demand requirements.
  • Communicate business information to hourly associates to keep them informed of business needs and status.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with other departments to ensure smooth product flow and consistency throughout the plant.
  • Plan & coordinate preventative maintenance downtime to meet production requirements to maximize equipment availability.
  • Track, analyze and improve key production metrics required to meet the business goals.
  • Work with the Human Resources department to obtain necessary resources to meet the business needs.
  • Ensure the plant policies are fairly administered throughout the department.
  • Maintain positive employee relations throughout the plant.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, BS in Engineering is a plus
  • 5-8 years’ production experience
  • 5-8 years’ experience in planning/scheduling for a fast paced manufacturing environment making customized deliverables
  • 5-8 years’ managerial experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of MRP or ERP software
